KS Tools now offer an improved flaring tool with which even thin-walled steel as well as aluminium and copper lines can easily be flared. The device, known as Flare Fix 2, is suitable for universal use and is marketed as an eleven-piece set. It features significantly improved handling characteristics, is simple to operate and does not require the use of any additional tools. With Flare Fix 2 even coated lines can be flared without destruction of the coating. A detailed product description is also available on video at http://youtu.be/LF9qY_6k5sw. The KS Tools Product Number is 122.1260.
„We have significantly improved our previous model“, declares the KS Tools project management. „In particular, the hydraulic spindle makes it much easier to use.“ As a result of this new type of spindle, the user can easily do the job without additional tools. The hydraulically-operated spindle also allows considerable force can be applied, meaning that harder materials can be precisely flared even more easily. The simple pumping action can generate a pressure of up to 2.5 tonnes. This allows vehicle professionals to produce correctly formed line connections without the need to apply great strength. Turning of a handle is no longer necessary for the flaring process, which means that even confined spaces are not a problem when using the device.
Flare Fix 2 is designed for universal use and is suitable for a range of cross-sectional diameters. The supplied accessories permit the processing of lines with diameters of 4.75 (3/16 inch), 5 and 6 millimetres. This covers the most popular lines in use. The device is suitable for thin-walled steel as well as aluminium and copper lines. Both convex and double flares can be formed. This means that Flare Fix 2 is ideal for use on brake and hydraulic lines directly on the vehicle, allowing work to be completed quickly and cleanly. The user can easily achieve both DIN and SAE standards.
„Flaring is a demanding process, which in many areas cannot be replaced by simple soldering. For this reason, an easily-operated high precision device is an absolute must“ summarises the KS Tools project management. „At KS Tools we are constantly striving to optimise both working procedures and tools. We keep a close watch on the market and know exactly which processes lead to problems. This results in the development of tools which are genuinely useful in day to day working.“
