Diversity as an opportunity – The Diversity Charter of Companies in Germany
The diversity of modern society, influenced by globalization and demographic change, is shaping economic life in Germany. We can only be successful if we recognize and use the existing diversity. This affects the diversity in our workforce and the diverse needs of our customers and our business partners. The diversity of employees with their different skills and talents opens up opportunities for innovative and creative solutions.
The implementation of the "Charta der Vielfalt" in our company aims to create a work environment that is free of prejudice. All employees should receive appreciation - regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity. The recognition and promotion of these diverse potentials creates economic benefits for KS Tools.
We create a climate of acceptance and mutual trust. This has a positive impact on our reputation among business partners, consumers, both in Germany and in other countries of the world.
About the Charta
The Charta der Vielfalt (diversity charter) is a corporate initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel is the initiative’s patron. The Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration, Aydan Özoğuz, supports the initiative.
The initiative aims to promote the recognition, appreciation and integration of diversity into Germany’s business culture. Organisations are to create a working environment free of prejudice. All employees should be valued – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity.
The Charta der Vielfalt was initiated in December 2006 by four multinationals. Since then, more than 2,800 companies and public institutions have signed the charter and new signatories are being added on a continual basis.
