Today in the Peruvian capital Lima, Dakar history was written: Stéphane Peterhansel secured his tenth Dakar victory and the first for the MINI ALL4 Racing and X-raid team! Only 14 month after the unveiling of the new X-raid-family member, the crown of off-road sport went to Trebur.

But the success went beyond victory: all five MINI ALL4 Racing placed in top 10! Nani Roma (ESP) and Michel Périn (FRA) achieved a one-two victory for Monster Energy X-raid team with rank two at Dakar 2012. The duo achieved three stage victories!

Nevertheless the Monster Energy X-raid team did not only convince with a big Dakar-success: contrary to the expectations of many outsiders, all eight vehicles, five MINI ALL4 Racing and three BMW X3 CC reached Lima. „In addition to the victory this is the biggest success for the team“, said Quandt. „Our engineers and mechanics prepared the vehicles very well every day and created the basis for the success with this.“

The German duo Stephan Schott and Holm Schmidt were dogged in their KS Tools BMW X3 CC by bad luck in this Dakar.
A breakdown already on the second day and a through no fault of their own crash with a truck in the penultimate stage prevented a better result. Despite furious and successful races to catch up with placements at day’s stages until place 11 Schott/Schmidt became in Lima officially 31st of overall standings.
